When it comes to descriptions I subscribe to the old adage, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. But if the picture is not the best it can be, then neither is the marketing of your biggest asset: your home. When listing a property I believe in sticking to what I know, which in my case is NOT taking pictures. I utilize professional photographers who will ensure that your home will show at its absolute best.
Making prospective Buyers fall in love with your home may be facilitated in large part with great photography but pragmatic Buyers want understand how they fit their family into a home. I believe that a comprehensive, professionally drafted floorplan is the only way to accomplish this.
If you’re reading this, then you’re on my website. As with any service provider, I want to reach as far as I can in every medium used for marketing, but my website is not just about marketing me, it’s also about marketing your home. In Real Estate Sales, like most businesses, the internet has become the central medium for marketing products and services. I welcome your feedback on ways in which I can improve my site!
This is the key tool for reaching prospective Buyers. There isn’t a prospective home Buyer in North America who is not familiar with MLS and this is the “go to” starting spot for virtually anyone looking to purchase property. Advertising on MLS may seem like a no-brainer to people looking to sell their home however, it is not uncommon for REALTORS to knock on a door of a home owner and say “I have someone who would like to buy your home”. There may be scenarios in which this is the best option for a Seller, but it is rare. In order to ensure that you are getting the highest possible price for your home you need to put it out the entire world, not just one Buyer. Get it on MLS and sell it to the highest bidder. You could be leaving thousands – hundreds of thousands – of dollars on the table.
A picture may be “worth a thousand words”, but seeing is believing. I am a big proponent of the effectiveness of Open Houses. The vast majority of time, in order to truly fall in love with your home, a potential Buyer needs to actually get inside it. Sure, they can always book a private showing but I believe it’s important to give your home the most exposure that I possibly can. Open Houses are a proactive measure that help to not only showcase your home to the public, but a demonstration of my commitment to working as hard as I can to sell your home and not passively sitting around waiting for Buyers to call me!
A standard part of my marketing material includes professionally designed and constructed feature sheets that include photographs, copy and the specifications of your home. Brochures are available during Public & Agent Open Houses.
For my listings on the North Shore, I regularly utilize the Real Estate section of the North Shore News. It is also a great tool for marketing Open Houses to the public.
